Blog Award

My friend Debbie at Artful Aspirations gave me a blog award! Thanks, Debbie! I've never gotten an award!

I'm supposed to answer the following questions in one word and then pass the award on to five other bloggers. But I'm one of those people who never can resist tweaking an assignment, so I handed out the questionnaire to my husband and daughter and had them complete it, too. Then I took the answers I liked best and combined them into this super duper questionnaire! Bob's answers are in blue, mine are in coral, and CZ's are in green:

Here are the questions:
1. Where is your cell phone? Non-existent
2. Your hair? Troubled
3. Your mother? Sociable
4. Your father? Solitary
5. Your favorite food? Salmon
6. Your dream last night? Moving
7. Your favorite drink? Coffee
8. Your dream/goal? Completing this
9. What room are you in? Cold
10. Your hobby? Italian
11. Your fear? Heat
12. Where do you want to be in 6 years? Here
13. Where were you last night? Home, home
14. Something that you aren’t? Perfect
15. Muffins? Yes
16. Wish list item? Muffins
17. Where did you grow up? South
18. Last thing you did? This
19. What are you wearing? Running clothes
20. Your TV? Gone
21. Your Pets? Past
22. Friends? Present
23. Your life? Future (hopefully)
24. Your mood? Positive
25. Missing Someone? Grandmother
26. Vehicle? 1 train
27. Something you're not wearing? Pants
28. Your favorite store? Kitchen (everything's free!)
29. Your favorite colour? All
30. When was the last time you laughed? 1 minute, 27.936 seconds ago
31. Last time you cried? Forgot
32. Your best friend? Laura, Bob, depends
33. One place that I go to over and over? work, home
34. Facebook? Never!
35. Favorite place to eat? Home or Spiga, home, home

Now, I'm supposed to pass this award on to five other people. But I don't like doing that, for the same reason I don't list other people's blogs on my sidebar--I'm just not comfortable picking favorites. But I've read all the blogs of the people who comment here regularly, I really do like them all, and there are probably about five of you! So if you are looking for something to stir up your creative juices and feel like answering this questionnaire, consider yourselves awarded! If not, no pressure!

Boots and bubbly?

Having seen Willa's results on this blog analyzer test, I had to try it.  At first I was surprised:

ESFP - The Performers

The entertaining and friendly type. They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells. They live in the present moment and don´t like to plan ahead - they are always in risk of exhausting themselves.

The enjoy work that makes them able to help other people in a concrete and visible way. They tend to avoid conflicts and rarely initiate confrontation - qualities that can make it hard for them in management positions.

I have been an INTP/INFP (see sidebar) since the first time I ever took a Myers-Briggs, when I was about nineteen. So I have little doubt that whatever and INTP/INFP is, I really am one.  But the sentence below (which the INTP in me badly wants to correct for spelling) seems to hold a clue:

Note: writing style on a blog may have little or nothing to do with a person´s self-percieved personality.
When I started thinking about the disparity between my self-perceived personality and my blogging style, I realized that it made sense.  I am wary of being in my head too much. I also think that what's going on in my head is often way too open-ended and esoteric, and sometimes way too emotional, for a public consumption. (See last post.)  So I wait until I have some thoughts that seem acceptable, and then blog them.
And as with Willa, the last two letters (FP) are probably correct enough.
But I have two concerns:
I thought I stopped this split personality business in high school.
and
What's with the boots and the bubbly???

While I was at it, I tried the blog gender analyzer that I saw in Cindy's sidebar earlier this week.  At least my blog shows that I am a woman--though just barely. Guess I haven't posted enough on cooking, crafts or children lately.
Which brings me to another question:  Just how do these things work?
Ah, now that's an INTP question.  How very reassuring!

A new use for the old blog

Since I like this blog for day to day stuff, but I get to keep the .mac one until early March of next year, I've decided to use it for photo vignettes.  (It's great for photos.)  It may be a decidedly eccentric blog...

A new place for blogging...

Because .Mac has had unexpected trouble shifting to MobileMe, and because I will likely not renew my .Mac account in January anyway, I'm experimenting with a new blog.  Once the missing .Mac features are re-enabled, I'll probably continue to use it for the rest of the year (I like the capability for large photos on .Mac), but likely this will be my eventual new blogging home.  I may even move the last three posts over here just to experiment with them.  I like the labels and sidebars here.

So, welcome to Morningside Family at Blogspot!
